You will be able to take a relaxing pontoon boat ride down the Ocklawaha River or… get a glimpse of the wetland and swamp wildlife and foliage on a wild and exciting airboat ride. You can sit on the river bank and cast a line out to experience life as it existed only a few short years ago. In addition, you will find one of the best sources of wisdom at the “old timer’s” hangout, the “coffee coral”, telling stories &jokes, discussing old times and current events…the Consultation Fee only a cup of JOE. Spend an evening enjoying live music at the Gator Den and/or dinner at Nelson’s Restaurant. Just a mile up the road is J&B Horse Haven where you can have a 1 or 2 hour ride on well a behaved “rescue horse. Rides are based on rider’s skill. After a wonderful day filled with precious outdoor memories; pass out in one of the rustic outdoor cabins or a fine room at the Bed and Breakfast of Sherwood in the Forrest. The night air and sounds of crickets, gators and frogs will conjure visions of a bygone era. The Rustic cabins are appointed only enough to accommodate 21st century expectations, indoor bathrooms, heat, air conditioning, coffee maker with condiments, refrigerators and microwave in all the units, the cabins provide comfort as well as authenticity. Seating on all porches is gladly provided!
