Rustic Cabin The rustic cabin played a major role in the folklore and culture of central Florida. Early settlers had to build their homes using locally available materials. They also had to be sturdy so would stand in a storm. (Our homes are built to withstand hurricane force winds). They had to go up quickly so they could provide shelter from the elements and protection from local Indian attacks (just kidding again…most of us are the friendly type). Steeped in the rich history of past centuries these cabins emulate the look and feel of a time when the pace of life was a lot slower and the folk very cordial.

** Wireless INTERNET --- limited use the further you are away from the office

** Brochures --- for why? We’ll see! Maybe.
** Discounts? --- We only discount our real age…

** Groups---yes, some cabins can accommodate up to 10 guests

** AC and heat --- yes, both of them in all units

** Running water --- both hot and cold
** Indoor BATHROOMS --- yes, 1 in each unit( We also have Outdoor BATHROOMS: to accommodate our camping folk

** Coffee, condiments and microwave --- yes
** Roof leaks -- only if it rains…. (Just kidding)
** Room service --- call the Peabody on I-Drive Phone & fax service --- call a Comfort Inn anywhere
** Sheet thread count --- I HAVE NO IDEA...call the Holiday Inn, I hear they really have the good ones
** Wake up call --- yea right, automatically one minute after check out time…, it consists of a chain saw right outside your door at 11:01 AM

These Rustic cabins are appointed only enough to accommodate 21st century expectations, indoor bathrooms, heat, air conditioning, coffee maker with condiments, refrigerators and microwave in all the units, the cabins provide comfort as well as authenticity. Seating on all porches is gladly provided!

Sherwood in the Forrest currently has 23 dwelling units, offering accommodations for individuals and groups as large as 60. Most are located in Nelsons RV Park and Marina. To date, we have hosted bikers, famous fishermen (the kind that have TV shows), and various musicians who have taken advantage of the hospitality and easy living' in order to woodshed in preparation for tournaments, hunting or just a quiet place to recharge. We can accommodate, corporate retreats, weddings, receptions, honeymooners, passing thru traveler’s and stay a while campers. Sherwood in the Forrest will provide you with a casual, unforgettable and unique stay while you conduct your business. Note: J&B Horse Haven, the Gator Den, Nelsons Restaurant, ATV Tours and The Old River Paintball are owned and operated totally separate from Sherwood in the Forrest or Nelson’s RV Park and Marina.
